During the APEnet General Assembly in Lund 15th and 16th of October 2009, the national archives in Ireland and Belgium joined the project. APEnet now consists of national archives from 14 countries.

The Europeana Plenary Conference, Creation, Collaboration & Copyright, will be held 14-15 September 2009 in The Hague - The Netherlands.

The APEnet project co-arranged the pre-conference activities of the official cultural heritage conference during the Swedish EU presidency in October 2009.

On 8th June 2009 the APEnet project was presented on the conference 'New Archives – new problems, new solutions' organized by the Society of Polish Archivists in Ustka, Poland.
