APEnet (Archives Portal Europe) is a Best Practice Network project supported by the European Commission in the eContentplus programme and its objective is to build an Internet Gateway for Documents and Archives in Europe where seventeen European National Archives in close cooperation with the EUROPEANA initiative will create a common access point to European archival descriptions and digital collections.

This website is intended to inform you about the development of the project.

The third version of the Archives Portal Europe is now online at www.archivesportaleurope.eu!
You can search across the holdings of 49 institutions, 8.820.344 descriptive units and 778.316 digital archival objects.
Read about the most significant improvements of this new version here. As always we welcome your feedback which can be sent using the portal's contact form. Please note that this is still an Alpha version of the portal's pilot.

The APEnet project, the new release of the Archives Portal Europe and APEnet's follow-up the APEX project were presented at the DISH2011 conference in Rotterdam.
